You will learn the fundamentals of AJAX, an open and standards-based technology that gives your Web pages a responsiveness that rivals desktop applications. You will discover the features in JavaScript that can help you write code that runs in the browser. You will get an introduction to the five server-side controls that you can use on a Web Forms page to reduce the amount of data between client and server. Finally, you will learn about the AJAX Control Toolkit, a collection of server-side controls and extenders that allows you to accomplish things that in the past may have required reams of JavaScript code.
