Entity Framework is an exciting technology that is fast becoming the primary data access technology in Microsoft's .NET development world. It is an object-relational mapping tool that is deeply integrated in the .NET Framework and fully supported by tools in Visual Studio 2010. It supports a variety of development methodologies in various ways, including support for database-first, model-first, and code-first design. Microsoft is positioning Entity Framework to be the data access technology of choice in the .NET world, and it is appropriate for any non-trivial application that uses data heavily.
