CASP, Part 2: Network Security

with expert David Bigger

Addressing for computer communications can be sometimes overwhelming to some but in this course we will give you an over view on IP and MAC addressing. We will talk about the source and destination addresses for network frames and packets. TCP and UDP will be discussed as well and how reliable these protocols may or may not be. The main focus is on network security where most attention will be placed on secure design practices and secure communications. Firewalls, DMZs, network access control and more will be discussed and how it can keep our networks and data more secure. We will talk about online security using SSL and TLS – those security protocols that keep your online banking secure. And all of this surfing wouldn’t be as easy without Domain Naming Services or DNS so we will talk about securing our DNS and try to steal some data from them.
