Course description

The main capability of Business Connectivity Services (BCS) in SharePoint 2013 is to expose line of business (LOB) data as external content types. Once defined, then then BCS allows the creation of lists that use the external content types which then have all of the rich goodness of standard SharePoint lists. The external data can be anything from database sources to WCF web services or even OData REST web services. After this course, you will understand the nuances of BCS and how to create external content types using both SharePoint Designer 2013 and Visual Studio 2013. You will also learn how to consume WCF web services as well as REST web services that use the OData protocol.
